Well, at last finished all 4 of Artemis fowl series. And, no I am not much impressed. Though it makes a good time pass, it is not like something you put down only after you finish it. But, the book has some merits. First, the plot. The hero is a 12 year old boy, Artemis Fowl Jr, but I think the author failed to give justice to his caliber. My thoughts are best summed up by Capt. Holly Short who says in the book Opal Deception “till now, all my adventures with Fowl were like comic strip escapes”. Thatz the only book which does some justice to the character. The author finely crafts a web for the events to take place, but when really the ball starts rolling, its over even before you realize it started rolling. I am not sure whether I can compare Fowl with Harry potter, but both have some parallel traits. Both are prodigies, but while Potter is humble, boy next door character, Fowl knows he have what it takes to be  a prodigy, and he enjoys it. But on almost all other aspects, potter scores over Fowl. I will recommend it to some one who wants to spend some leisurely time reading something light.

Now I am trying to make a pic – Edward de Bono or Sherlock Holmes…..

I finished The Man with the Twisted Lip yesterday night; but didnt start anything new. I had 2 automobile magazines with me. So i read one of them (Autocar India). today I think I may start with teh first Artemis fowl…

Am reading Sherlock Holmes now…I finished A study in Scarlet on last Monday and The Sign of the Four on Tuesday. On Tuesday evening I finished A Scandal in Bohemia and on wednesday
I finished A Case of Identity,The Boscombe Valley Mystery and The Five Orange Pips, and started The Man with the Twisted Lip. I have finished the whole works of Sherlock holems when I was a boy, and last month I brought a full set of Sherlock Holmes when Crosswords offered a sale.
What I like about Holems is his reasoning and the ability to spot the things one may easily overlook. I was a Holmes fan from long back and still remain teh same. I have devored many a crime novels, but no where I have seen the flash of geinuss interwoven with intelligence and observation power, supplimented by the infinte capacity to deduce the fact from trifiles…
If you examine Him closely, you can easily see that Holems is not a Copy Book hero, but a real man with virtues and vices…(or what you can call one who injects Opium when he dont have the intoxication of work?) really I dont have to spend time reviewing Holmes coz what is there to write is already written by many…I am not sure wheter I will continue reading Holmes coz I got 4 books of Artemis Fowl seris and One book by De Bono, but I wont start anything till I finish The Man with the Twisted Lip.

I am trying to expand my horizons…(well, not actually). It all started after i installed Flock. At that time I didnt had acess to many sites (Company Policy) and Raaji gifted me a worldpress account. Since that day I was toying with ideas in my mind about what to do with this space. Last time when i logged in I saw a new section in Raajis page ‘Currently Reading’ and I thought :!: , well, let my wordpress blog begin… Since it is devoted for a perticular activity, it wont be as active as my 360 blog (http://360.yahoo.com/theexperthand).
I love reading – well, this is an understatement. I love to read and and read and read, and my intrestes are really wast…from Hardy boys to Fritjof Capra, it covers a lot lot of ground…
